Role Overview
Providing services as a Technical Application Manager (TAM), with end-to-end responsibility for the stability, availability, and continuous development of critical business systems. The role involves full technical ownership of applications across development environments and active participation in change management, incident management, and security processes

1. Kubernetes / Tanzu Environments
- Overseeing applications running on Kubernetes/Tanzu clusters
- Validating configurations (deployments, services, ingress, config maps)
- Supporting deployments (CI/CD, release management)
- Investigating environment-related issues (e.g., connectivity, service configuration, deployments)

2. Application Strategy Management
- Supporting Business Application Managers (FAO) in defining and communicating the application's technical strategy in line with Enterprise Architecture (EA) principles
- Acting as a technical liaison to facilitate cross-functional collaboration between business and IT teams
- Continuously assessing emerging technologies and recommending improvements where needed
- Identifying automation opportunities (OpEx analysis and follow-up actions)
- Coordinating and overseeing penetration and performance testing for products and systems
- Collaborating with central and local IT roles (e.g., Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects)

3. Technical Documentation Management
- Proactively maintaining the central application repository (e.g., LeanIX)
- Reviewing Release Notes and CAB Instructions
- Owning and managing Service Cards (a prerequisite for handover to Application Management Services)
- Ensuring complete and up-to-date AMS documentation
- Managing all other documentation related to supported applications

4. Technical Application Management in Compliance with Internal Processes and Regulations
- Deploying new releases to test environments
- Analyzing existing applications and systems to identify required modifications and improvements
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifying and implementing technical optimizations when necessary
- Providing consulting and training support to second-line support teams (AMS)
- Ensuring release quality and awareness of software quality issues or delivery delays
- Ensuring execution of Access & Identity Management processes, including:
- Access recertification
- System role concepts
- System role repositories
- Authorization Concept documentation
- Permission repositories
- Test environment user management
- Overall accuracy and quality assurance

5. Change Request Management
- Playing an active role in the Change Management process (e.g., CAB), including Change Coordinator responsibilities and managing changes in alignment with AMS
- Evaluating business requirements and operational procedures to identify application improvements supporting evolving business needs
- Implementing new functionalities by selecting appropriate implementation approaches and ensuring compliance with architectural standards
- Collaborating with central and local IT roles (e.g., Solution Architects and Enterprise Architects)

6. Project Support as a TAM
- Supporting projects when needed (e.g., feasibility studies, quarterly planning activities)
- Implementing software releases in test environments

7. Budget Management
- Managing the application's OTB budget, including Change Request planning
- Planning RTB budget items and sharing information with AMS
- Supporting annual planning cycles and providing monthly budget utilization updates
- Improving budget planning throughout the planning period

8. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Supporting local business teams (e.g., Testing Team, BDD, FAO, Business Architects)
- Collaborating with local IT teams (IT4IT)
- Working with central and local IT roles (e.g., Solution Architects, Enterprise Architects, TAMs)
- Cooperating with the IT Leadership Team

Candidate Profile Experience
- Previous experience as a Technical Application Manager (TAM), DevOps Engineer, or Platform Engineer
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (deployments, networking, troubleshooting)
- Practical experience with VMware Tanzu or similar enterprise Kubernetes platforms
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, IIS
- Basic Linux/Unix administration skills: Terminal usage, Common system commands, Working with the vi editor (or similar), Bash scripting
- Basic understanding of Oracle databases
- Basic networking knowledge
- Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS)
- Experience with: GitHub, Concourse, Postman, Splunk, Jira, Confluence
- Knowledge of ITIL methodology
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
